Does what you believe impact your choices? For instance, if you believe the house is on fire do you get out of the house? Or, if you believe you have a flat tire do you pull off the highway? If you believe your weight problem is directly related to eating at fast food restaurants do you stop ordering those 45 fat gram hamburgers?

Some people will argue that what they believe has little effect on their lifestyle. I believe that our life choices and lifestyle is directly related to what we believe. We make decisions every day that are initiated by what we believe. Our behavior, attitude and responses reveal what we believe about any situation. We may modify our response and try to mask our feelings but what we believe is how we really feel.

How does this relate to the Bible?

If you truly BELIEVE that the Bible is the Word of God then you would be utterly foolish to disregard what it says. Don’t you agree? If you are convinced that God has given us His Word in written form so we may have an understanding about Him, and what He has done for us, shouldn’t our life be impacted by that belief?

The Bible tells us about creation. Do you believe? The Bible tells us about Jesus, our Savior. Do you believe? The Bible tells us about sin and salvation. Do you believe? The Bible tells us about hell. Do you believe? The Bible tells us about Heaven. Do you believe? The Bible tells us about eternal life. Do you believe?

I frequent a Christian website where one poster revels in describing all the things he does not believe about the Bible. He affirms his faith in God but rejects faith in God’s Word. Go figure!

I urge you to establish firm footing on your belief in God and His Word. The future is ominous and the challenge to your faith is going to be unbearable unless you have settled this BELIEF question in your heart.
