“I LOVE AMERICA”

I Love America Image

If you were to use the word "freedom" in most countries of the world their citizens would not be able to understand what you meant.  The very concept of freedom, as we know it, is unknown in most of the world's populations. The life we live in America is not even in the dreams of those who survive under brutal dictatorships, communistic thuggery, vicious warlords and religious tyrants.

We are blessed with the sweetest liberties known to mankind.  That's why the borders of this country are overrun by the millions of hungry people who want to taste what we have enjoyed all our lives.

Every day we rise to the bright light of Freedom. We travel as we desire, buy and sell, and basically live our lives as we please.  Most of us are never arrested for anything and we don't tremble every time we see a policeman.  We freely worship in our churches without the aching fear of imprisonment.  We can involve ourselves in political activities (even speak ill of our government) and not fear that we will be killed for our involvement.

The next time you hear anyone rant that this is a terrible country you just remember this: if they didn't love it they would leave it.  That's one of the benefits of our freedom.  One doesn't have to live here - he has the freedom to go.  But, they mostly never do because they know this is the greatest country on "God's green earth!"  Freedom outranks everthing else.

I'm so glad I don't have to sneak across the border to be able to enjoy the wonderful freedom which every American experiences.  But, I am certain if I lived in a totalitarian country I would do what I could to get to America.

Having lived in this country all my life I have never, ever felt a hatred or a disdain for America.  I don't understand how anyone born in this wonderful country could reach such a low point that they would curse this free land and work to bring about it's destruction.

Political rivalry and partisanship often tends to demean the precious freedom which means so much to we who love America.  The rhetoric  becomes vicious and personal as these self anointed "defenders" of this free land engage in dialogs which too often reveal the baser nature of their character and personality.  The end result of their bickering is a shameful exposure of the soft underbelly of their political biases.  We are not served well by such behavior.

Our country is strengthened by purposeful and mutually benefiting actions of every American.   Patriotism, for instance, is an honorable emotion.  Every man, woman and child born in this country should be taught the virtues of patriotism.  This is the greatest country "on God's green earth" and we should not be embarrassed to say so.  The red, white and blue is revered by the common man in every corner of the world.  My corner of the world is America so I proudly declare ..... "GOD BLESS AMERICA!!"

I pray you are blessed today.

In Christ's love and life,
