STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES!

Recently, a major league football team decided they had had enough bad behavior from a star player. The management suspended him and they plan to deactivate him for the balance of the season - and then trade him off to another team. He is a multi-million dollar receiver but his attitude has diminished his glory and his bad actions have put him on the sidelines.

I thought this was a remarkable action for a corporate organization to take in order to remedy a bad situation. It took them a long time to come to this decision but when they did it was a severe remedy.

Reading the news story caused me to have an interesting imagery pop up in my mind concerning the garbage God has to put up with from many of His children. Back talk, trash talk, defeatist talk, complaining talk -- disrespect, dishonor, arrogance, childishness – the very behaviors of this rich football player that brought about his contract troubles. Sadly, these exact attitudes are sometimes acted out in the life of Christians who are inattentive to what they are doing and how they are acting!

This fellow apologized (well, halfway, anyway) with about the same kind of sincerity many Christians use for what we call repentance. His apology was not well received because his history exposed his insincerity.

Now, think about this .... if a corporate entity understands the damage a miscreant "super star" can cause to their team why wouldn't God have even a greater insight about the damage a rebellious "Christian" can do to His Kingdom. And, if so, why wouldn't He do something about it?

I think He does!!
